Once the test/evaluate cycle has begun it is time to develop marketing campaigns to drive visitors to your web site.

One of the most effective ways to drive visitors to your web site has proven to be targeted advertising on search engines.  Using the tools provided by the major search engines, we will use Google in this discussion, a short advertisement that links to one of your portal pages is displayed when specific key words are used in a search on Google.

When a Google user enters a search term that meets the criteria to trigger your ad, the ONLY positions worth having are on the first page of the search results.  Preferably in one of the first three slots.

By controlling your daily budget for marketing it is possible to bid for, and receive the top positions until your daily budget is met.  By carefully controlling the search term - keyword relationship to optimize the quality of the lead, and by carefully wording the ad to attract ONLY qualified leads, your advertising budget is spent on leads that have high probability of conversion to customers.

Once that customers begin looking at your web site, and converting to customers we begin to accumulate the data necessary to begin the optimization testing process described in Page Design
