Site design encompasses the full utilization of your computing resources and telecommunications infrastructure to achieve global transparent communications.

For example company "Widgets Are Us" hosts with our partner WebMarketingNorthwest.com and asks us to design their site. We analyze how Widgets is going to distribute it's resources, how Widgets is going to communicate internally and externally, and what local and remote resources they have at their disposal.

We discover that Widgets wants to enable it's workforce to work from both the office and from home now, and in the future move a significant number of employees to working from home the majority of time. They currently have about 100 employees in 3 states, and expect to tripple that number in the next two years. Widgets uses Microsoft operating systems and applications exclusively, they do not have an IT department, and they do not yet recognize the risk of using unconfigured workstations, and unmanaged servers, and they are beginning to feel the financial pinch of integrating a new Microsoft operating system as they grow. Widgets wants to explore lower cost alternatives, as long as doing so will not impact their agressive growth strategy.

We work with Web Marketing Northwest to size their hosting to permit Widgets to utilize the server as their mail hub and document transfer center. We configure one of their servers to provide Microsoft Terminal Services, and we configure a Dell order for workstations that we pre-configure to support remote access, mail and document transfer.

We also look at the company's telecommunications strategy and help them acquire and configure a VOIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) solution that allows their company PBX (Public Branch Exchange) phone system to connect directly to workers who are at home or at the office transparently.

We determine that Widgets could benefit from running it's file servers, PBX, and Accounting functions to Unix, and then we locate hardware, software and support options, provide a migration plan, cost analysis and total cost of ownership projections.

We analyze the software licenses Widgets has already purchased, propose a hardware upgrade to refresh the older PC's and servers. Then instead of purchasing new PC's and servers with new operating systems, we find sources that provide separate hardware and operating system and recycle as many licenses as possible.

We implement tighter security and control the chaos of different applications on the desktop. We help train Widget's users on the new security policies and make sure everyone has the tools and training to accomplish their job.
